Sound recording techniques and device are now widely accessible to anyone. Recording bird voices has therefore become increasingly popular among the birdwatching community.
What can we learn from bird sound analysis ? How has it changed the way we “watch” birds ? These are some of the questions that Stanislas Wroza, a European specialist in bioacoustics, member of the Commission de la Avifaune Française and the editorial board of the French magazine Ornithos, will answer.
Wroza is the author of the book Identifier Les Oiseaux Migrateurs par le Son, a practical manual for learning to record the birds, and the blog soundbirding.org where he explain to choose the appropriate material and how to analyze the recordings.
