Bird diseases, and wildlife’s in general, have in recent years become a threat to the conservation of biodiversity. Not only viruses, bacteria and parasites, but also human infrastructure, toxins and even medicines that we use for people and domestic animals, are the cause of mortality for many animals. These diseases can even become a pandemic.
This September, Ignasi Marco, professor at the Veterinary Faculty of the Barcelona Autonomous University and head of the Wildlife Conservation Medicine Research Group, will come to talk to us about how birdlife gets sick within the current framework of health and clinical interest in the diseases study that affect the conservation, management and well-being of wild species.
