Have you heard of the noble pen shells? It is the largest mollusk in the Mediterranean and the second largest on the planet, getting to almost one meter in length. It is an iconic species since it is only found in the Mediterranean. However, the drastic reduction in its population due to a parasite has led scientists to declare it an endangered species.
On this activity we will visit the Trabucador area accompanied by guides from the Barcelona Zoo to find out about the problem of the noble pen shells in the Delta. If you can, wear diving goggles, closed shoes (boots, sneakers…) that can get wet, sunscreen, a cap, sunglasses,…
