“La sal de la vida” is a documentary filmed and edited by Jaume Sañé i Pons. The documentary will be performed for the first time during the festival and is the work of many years of recordings of this great Catalan documentary filmmaker.
The processes of the waters within the “Salines de la Trinitat” (Salt Lake) and the dependence of the fauna on these area, are described during 25 minutes. “Les Salines” is a Partial Natural Reserve and one of the ornithological jewels of Catalonia. The entrance is forbidden for visitors and therefore the only way to know the richness of this location is through this documentary.
Some witnesses will tell us what the salt like represent for the environment and the bird populations that are housed there. Among them are Francesc Vidal, director of the Natural Park; Antonio Troya, IUCN-Mediterranean Director; Geoffrey Gooch, former director of the UNESCO Water Agency (Science, Politics and Law) and Joan Sucarrats, director general of “Salines de la Trinitat”.
