The Ebro Delta, with its surface area of 320 km2, is the largest aquatic habitat in Catalonia and has a rich diversity of environments that host a great diversity of organisms adapted to different habitats. This biological richness contrasts with the deep human presence. In order to make harmony possible between the two worlds, and at the request of its inhabitants, the Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park (7,802 ha) was set up in 1983.
