{"id":7133,"date":"2021-07-23T10:33:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T08:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deltabirdingfestival.com\/cincuenta-milones-de-anos-devolucion-de-los-paseriformes\/"},"modified":"2021-07-23T12:19:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T10:19:46","slug":"cincuenta-milones-de-anos-devolucion-de-los-paseriformes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deltabirdingfestival.com\/en\/cincuenta-milones-de-anos-devolucion-de-los-paseriformes\/","title":{"rendered":"Fifty million years of passerine evolution"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alstromper?lang=ca\" target=\"_blank\">Per Alstr\u00f6m<\/a><\/strong> is professor and researcher at the Department of Ecology and Genetics at Uppsala University and at the Institute of Zoology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His main research in ornithology is focused on the Systematics of Passerines through DNA analysis, vocalizations plus the examination of morphology that, in combination with ecological, distribution and behavioral data, allows to obtain an integrated taxonomy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, he is the discoverer of several species new to science in Asia (<em>Zoothera salimalii<\/em> or <em>Locustella chengi<\/em> among the recent ones) and has rediscovered where the enigmatic Blackthroat (<em>Calliope obscura<\/em>) breeds in the Qinlin Mountains, in central China.
