Now that we are all still suffering the devastating effects of a pandemic that has meant paying a very high toll in terms of the number of lives that has been taken, but also the millions of euros that are being spending to fight it. Can we do something so that this does not happen again? Can we prevent another pandemic coming after this one? Will infections be the scourge of future generations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll wonder about that with Fernando Valladares<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, a researcher\u00a0at the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and associate professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid),\u00a0specialized in evaluating the effects of climate change, but he is also an excellent communicator as you will see if you take a look at his social media<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his conference, he will highlight the importance of biodiversity<\/strong> in its role as a firewall between contagions<\/strong> or lowering the viral load, which would make it less likely that pathogens<\/strong> would jump to the human species. Ultimately, as he says, the most effective vaccine is to have a functional nature.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
