Biometría de un Encuentro is neither a treatise on birds nor an identification guide. The book contains 31 stories, the result of the same number of days spent by the author alongside 40 birdwatchers in their natural environment, in which he seeks to capture the essence that fuels the passion of bird observers and their unique way of understanding life.
This book aims to pay tribute to the spontaneous empathy that arises in overlapping moments and to celebrate a fleeting encounter among overwhelmed and slightly chaotic travel companions.
Those who have been fortunate enough to understand that the most interesting things in life happen outside the home—on the meadows, in the forests, under storms, in marshes, windward, in short, in natural spaces—and have found in these moments the best hobby in the world, innocently convinced that this is the most exciting way to spend time and cope with life’s challenges, have both the responsibility and the duty to share such a privilege.

The author of the book is Carlos Lozano Robledo, an early traveler (he has visited all seven continents and set foot in 80 countries) and a late-blooming writer. He has published the books PAJARERO (Tundra Ediciones, 2019), ¡Por todos los escribanos hortelanos! (BichoMalo Libros, 2022), and Cuando en lo alto (Bohodón Ediciones, 2022). He is a secondary and high school science teacher on occasion and a full-time birdwatcher.

During the roundtable, he will be joined by several key figures from the book: direct participants of some chapters (Sara Álvarez, Yanina Maggiotto, Juan José Ramos), illustrators (Ainhoa Lekuona, Lourdes Berzas, Nacho Sevilla), as well as members of the publishing team.
