Open-air Cinema: Presentation and Screening of the documentary Rancho Quemado by Marc Casas

Before the screening of Saturday night’s feature film, we will show the documentary Rancho Quemado, a 20-minute audiovisual piece presented by its director, Marc Casas.

In the heart of Costa Rica, a deadly conflict rages. Fer-de-Lance: Deadly Encounter explores the precarious coexistence between rural communities and the fer-de-lance, Central America’s most venomous viper. Through gripping testimonials and expert analysis, this documentary unveils the devastating impact of these encounters, examining the complex factors behind the over one hundred bites each year, and prompting a crucial re-evaluation of this ongoing struggle.

Marc Casas is an Spanish videographer with experience in documentaries, advertising, and event production. He began in wildlife photography and visual storytelling, refining his audiovisual vision. In Rancho Quemado, he applied his technical and narrative expertise to capture the relationship between the community and the fer de lance viper in Costa Rica.
