Illustration Workshop based on the bird of the year

Illustration Workshop based on the bird of the year

This year we will pay tribute to the protagonist of the Delta Birding Festival poster: the swallow-billed woodpecker, a fascinating species that invites us to explore the contrast between black and white, the play of light and shadow, and the elegance of its stylized shapes.

The workshop, which will be carried out by illustrator Bruna Roqué, will be divided into two parts. In the first, the anatomy, proportions and characteristic details of this bird will be observed and analyzed in depth. In the second, this observation will be transferred to paper, working on its artistic representation and paying special attention to the synthesis of shapes, volume and contrasts that make it so attractive from an artistic point of view.
