Roger Sanmartí – Atlantic seabirds photography in Ireland

Roger Sanmartí is the co-founder of Photo Logistics and a nature photographer with extensive experience in managing hides. He is a specialist in conservation projects linked to photography. His passion for the land and the preservation of the natural environment is reflected in every image and initiative.

In this talk, sponsored by Nikon, Roger will share his experience photographing Atlantic seabirds along the stunning coasts of Saltee Island (Oileán an tSalainn) in Ireland. From puffin colonies to gannets, razorbills, skuas, and shag cormorants, we’ll discover spectacular species in windy and ever-changing environments.

He will also explain the techniques used to capture images in different lighting conditions and with oceanic backgrounds. The talk will cover various aspects of Nikon gear, especially long telephoto lenses and fast autofocus systems, and will showcase real examples taken during boat trips and cliffside sessions. The session will blend technical content with field anecdotes and tips for visiting Saltee—an opportunity to gain inspiration and improve seabird photography in marine environments.
