The Riet Vell Nature Reserve is a project carried out by SEO/BirdLife that aims to demonstrate the compatibility between the production of organic farming, in this case rice, and the restoration of natural wetlands. The reserve has a visitor centre, facilities that accommodate a European volunteer project and an ornithological hide which offers magnificent views over a restored lagoon.
During the breeding season, this lagoon is home to several pairs of Common Tern, Black-headed Gull and Purple Swamphen as well as a remarkable number of Greater Flamingos and Night Herons, among other species.
During the activity “Riet vell en familia”, SEO/BirdLife technicians show you the reserve. The whole family will enjoy an unforgettable experience that combines rice production with the natural values of the area.
