Artur is the second Junior that we introduce you this DBF edition, a 15-year-old boy who has loved nature all his life, but who did not discover the world of ornithology until the famous confinement of 2020.
Thanks to summer camps, guided trips and the accompaniment of some people with extensive ornithological knowledge, that hobby became a passion and a way of life. Enthusiasm for birds has led him to create several initiatives such as the Garriguenc Ornithology Group or Birding Junior and also to collaborate with entities, town councils, radio stations, VOTV and obviously, citizen science projects.
In fact, this last topic is what will deepen during the conference. Today, where environmental awareness is growing, citizen science plays a very important role in the study and conservation of nature. For Artur, birdwatching goes beyond making “life lists” or big years”; it is an essential element to assess the fluctuations of species, and it allows you to reach certain conclusions that he will try to share with us.
