Green birding, the respectful sighting

The Green birding or low carbon birding is an approach to ornithology which intends to reduce, as much as possible, carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere when going out birding, making it with means such as cycling or walking.

The Ebro delta, on this matter, has a privileged landscape, since the bicycle has played a very important role in the daily life of its inhabitants for many years. The fact of being a place with almost no slopes, but with relatively large towns and villages, makes bicycles the vehicle of choice over walking.

The Green birding activity consists of discovering, by electric bicycle, the Tancada lagoon surrounding, taking advantage of all its many bird hides, as well as the Embut purification wetlands. This activity will be guided by a member of the Institut Català d’Ornitologia who will help us to identify all the diversity of birds that gather in this area in autumn.
