This eleventh edition of the Delta Birding Festival coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Merops group, which, together with the Delta group, were the precursors of what we now know as the Catalan Ornithological Institute (ICO).
That is why, in this context, the ICO has organized a series of events that began with the assembly held in Àger in May — during which the organization’s volunteers were honored — and will conclude with a more formal event at La Pedrera in Barcelona in November.
And, of course, since the Delta Birding Festival should also be an important stage for this anniversary, we present the photographic exhibition ICO: 1975-1995, the first twenty years of history, which will be displayed during the three days of the festival on the second floor of the viewing building. It will feature 88 images showing the beginnings of the association and many of its key figures.
