Ivet Franch Garcia is a 17-year-old young ornithologist who has just completed her second year of high school. She describes herself as a curious person with an interest in local history.
In her talk, she will present her research project, which aims to study the changes in bird species following the creation of the Palma d’Ebre reservoir.
During the study, she analyzed which bird species existed before and which are present now. The practical part of the project involved designing a proposal to install birdwatching hides in the reservoir area (already submitted to the local council), with the goal of promoting conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable tourism. This research combines local testimonies, environmental science, and proposals for the future of the area.
