Ponç Feliu is currently Director of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park and was Director of Cap de Creus Natural Park for six years. Ponç will close the Delta Birding Festival’s conference programme with this closing presentation.
In the coming years, Catalonia will have new Natural Parks that are already undergoing the formal designation process, including Muntanyes de Prades, Albera and Serra del Montsec, with the aim of ensuring greater protection and management of nature and biodiversity across the region. In addition, several Natural Parks are currently drafting their Natural Environment and Landscape Protection Plans, which will serve as the roadmap for the management of these Specially Protected Natural Areas.
Ponç will present these new projects led by the Directorate-General for Environmental Policies and Natural Heritage of the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Government of Catalonia.
