Israel Montiel is the technical coordinator of the “Fet al Parc” programme at the Directorate-General for Environmental Policies and Natural Heritage of the Government of Catalonia. He works to link biodiversity conservation with the socio-economic development of protected natural areas through collaboration with local producers and the recognition of activities committed to the territory.
This talk will present the programme that recognises and highlights the activities of the primary sector, agri-food production and traditional crafts linked to protected natural areas in Catalonia. Joining the programme enables the use of its brand and involves verifiable commitments to sustainability, traceability, and respect for the natural, landscape and cultural values of each park.
