One of the most stimulating novelties that will be presented at the 2022 Delta Birding Festival is the creation of the DBF Junior, a space in which the new generations of birders will be able to present their vision of this world and explain their projects. For this edition we have looked for people who not only share a passion for birds, but who are also carrying out some personal project that we have considered especially interesting.
Carlos Pérez Naval will come to talk about the bird guide he has written, titled “Aves de España. Guia fotográfica para la identificación” and based on his own photographs, and that he has also self-published.
Genís Cunill will explain the objectives of his multi-taxonomic study on a reedbed located near Tona (Osona), with which he wants to know the ecological value of this spot as well as promote a custody agreement with the owner of the land.
Maria Mira who is the one who drags her whole family to watch birds and who also uploads her experiences to social networks. In this way, she fully shares her passion with anyone who fancy to witness it. Maria will detail how she manages the networks, how she edits the videos and how she manages, step by step, to gain followers.
We will also welcome Artur Morales, creator of the Garriguenc Ornithological Group and head of a section on birds on the Silenci radio station, and Otger Fortià, who manages the Birdingjunior ‘WhatsApp’ account, which is used to organize ornithological meetings and marathons for the youngest.
Finally, we have invited Guillem Iturbe, a very young guy who contacted the ICO to explain that he built nest boxes and bird feeders, that he sold them and that, instead of keeping the money for himself, he wanted to donate it to a research association like ours. He has already exhibited his project at the IX Congress of Young and Small Scientists of Catalonia.
