Marc Fusellas is an ICO environmental technician and works in the coordination team of the Common Bird Monitoring of Catalonia (SOCC), while Bernat Garrigós is a biologist and president of the Alive Foundation.
In their conference, they will talk about SAM (Seabird Monitoring), a specific monitoring of seabirds that aims to fill the gap in ornithological knowledge about bird populations that move along the Catalan coast. This project promoted by the ICO, promoted by the Alive Foundation and with the collaboration of different entities, has been very well received by the community of sea observers in Catalonia.
In this talk, we will review the birth and course of the SAM to date, as well as the vision for the future. In addition, we will have the participation of the coordinators of each census point, who will give us their own local vision of the monitoring.
