Europe’s Birds – the making of an identification guide (conference in english)

The well-known writer and ecologist Andy Swash, author of great bestsellers for ornithologists such as Britain’s Birds or The World’s Rarest Birds will fly this September from Devon, UK, to present his new bird identification guide Europe’s Birds. Andy is a complete naturalist with
special knowledge of birds and dragonflies, professional wildlife photographer and also, the Managing Director of WILDGuides.

His work has culminated in a collection of detailed plumages and song descriptions combined with extensive data on distribution, conservation status and essential habitat of the different bird species studied. The content of this volume covers 928 species and contains 4.700 photos, and has already been translated into 9 languages, Spanish included. For these reasons, Europe’s Birds is now considered the most comprehensive European birds photo identification guide ever published.

During his presentation, he will explain the challenge of writing it and what incredible stories are hidden behind the images that compose it. Andy’s great ambition is to foster a greater awareness of the natural World wonders through his photography and own writings; therefore we have no doubt that his conference will be a revelation for all those passionate about nature. We are already looking forward to DBF23 to cross Europe with Andy through the presentation of the multiple findings and experiences he has lived in the field of ornithology.
