Ricard Gutiérrez is head of Generalitat de Catalunya Wildlife Conservation Section of the Fauna and Flora Service, he was director of the Delta del Llobregat Natural Reserves between 1990 and 2005 and has directed the network of protected natural areas, in aside from working on coastal and marine biodiversity.
When you work hard on the conservation of species and their habitats, any opportunity to reach more people, to spread information, to raise awareness is ground gained in favour of the preservation of nature and saving these species from extinction. “Vamos a la playa” pursues this objective by talking about the coast and its inhabitants, with real chronicles of things that happen, with the collaboration of people who have had to see and participated, with dozens of species cited on the Mediterranean coast, but also with Atlantic and Macaronesian island touches. Following the discourse of the latest books “Las últimas de las Filipinas” and “Sueños de pájaros”, we hope that this pocket-sized, digestible booklet will be, never better said, one more grain of sand for the conservation of these habitats full of life.
