Laura is a marine biologist and conservationist and has worked for the NGO Sea Shepherd Conservation Society for 7 years.
This organization is dedicated to the protection of the World’s oceans, and Laura has dedicated her time to the campaign that fights to save the most endangered marine mammal: the vaquita. This Mexican porpoise, of which it is estimated that there are around 10 individuals left, drowns in fishing nets intended for several species in the area, one of them the totoaba, a fish whose swim bladder is trafficked on the Chinese black market and reaches exorbitant values.
