In this edition of the Delta Birding Festival we are pleased to announce the premiere of the documentary ‘La sal de la Vida’, recorded by the well-known biologist and broadcaster, Jaume Sañé.
Sañé highlights this necessary symbiosis between the interests of any extractive activity and the need to protect an area of such high ecological value, as the Trinitat salt lakes are.
Located within the Punta de la Banya in the municipality of San Carles de la Ràpita, this natural place is used to obtain sea salt by the company Infosa. It’s important to notice that the very process of obtaining sea salt creates a series of very specific microhabitats, which are ideal for the presence of some species of birds, such as the Audouin’s Gull or the Flamingo.
