Atlas of European nesting birds
The second European Breeding Bird Atlas project was carried out by the EBCC network of partner organisations, located in 48 countries, including all of Eastern Europe. In total, 120,000 field workers contributed data to the atlas, the vast majority of them voluntarily, making EBBA2 one of the largest biodiversity citizen science projects ever. With the financial support of the DBF, it was possible to professionally cover some remote grids that, due to their isolation, could not be surveyed by volunteers.
