Tracking the Eurasian turtle dove
In the 2017 edition and also in 2018, the monitoring of the Eurasian turtle dove (Streptopelia turtur) was partially financed, through a study carried out by the IREC, in which other centers also participated research (ICO, CTFC, RSPB, BirdLife, etc.). This work involved tagging turtle doves with remote tracking devices, in order to discover the migratory routes of stable turtle dove populations, as opposed to those of declining populations. 2018 was the first year of field work for this project and the festival provided the traps to capture the turtle doves, tons of grain to attract them and emitters.
