Healthy places, healthy people: how protected areas contribute to the society well-being? (conference in spanish)

National parks and other places subject to protection figures were originally conceived as areas for the health and well-being of people, under a humanist and internationalist philosophy.

Although for many decades this vision has been relegated to the background, in recent years it has been “rediscovered” along with aspects related to health, culture, spiritual values, education and well-being, which are starting to occupy, once again, an important place on the protected areas agenda.

This September, María Muñoz Santos, from the Fernando González Foundation for natural areas, will come to talk to us about what these protected zones contribute to the well-being of society. María has been working in the field of protected areas management for 20 years, mainly dealing with the conservation social dimension.

In addition to being part of the training area of FUNGOBE / Technical Office of EUROPARC-Spain since 2007, she coordinates and participates in different national and international projects, with an emphasis on the social aspects of management, related to participation, planning, training and monitoring, among others.
